Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

RE: COVID-19 Outbreak Update for Residents and Families: Calvary Flora McDonald Retirement Community

Following our last update to residents and families, I am writing to advise that an additional one (1) resident has tested positive and three (3) staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

This brings the total number of positive cases at the Home to (25) residentstwelve (12) active cases and (13) thirteen cases cleared; and 27 staff: ten (10) active cases and (17) cases cleared.

All residents will continue to be retested every 48 hours. The next round of testing ocurs tomorrow 12 January.

Our staff continue to be tested 72 hourly with Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) and are required to return a negative RAT test prior to starting their shift.

We understand that it is very difficult for residents to be cared for in their rooms and not have visitors. Please be assured that our team will continue to ensure the holistic care needs of all residents are met and calls and video conferencing is available for loved ones to remain in contact.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.

We will update you again this coming Thursday at a Zoom meeting, following a meeting with SA Health. An invitation for the Zoom meeting will be forwarded to you tomorrow.

You can help us to ease anxiety by please sharing this information with other family and friends.

We appreciate your continued support and thank you for your patience at this challenging time. We are grateful that families are working with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care.

Sincerely,

Martin Bowles, Regional CEO - SA

Ryan Midgley, General Manager
