What's new in the world of Ian Austin Author No images? Click here Hello Winter, are you here? Hi there, Winter has arrived, but I've been so engrossed in my work that I hardly noticed! It's been an incredibly productive time, with words flowing easily and not enough hours in the day to get all my writing done. I'm excited to announce that I'm diving into a new project, though I can't share the details just yet. Stay tuned! Event Highlight - Ages of PagesLast month's Ages of Pages event in Hamilton was a tremendous success! It was a fantastic day where I reconnected with some author friends and met many new faces. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table to chat and learn more about Dan Calder and me. I'm thrilled to report that I sold nearly 100 books! A big thank you to the organizers and all who attended. I'll definitely be booking my spot for next year. Pictured below is Garry Luck, look at that pile of books he is about to read! I am not complaining! Reunions & ReminiscenceRecently, there have been several reunions of former Police colleagues in England. Although I couldn't attend, I enjoyed seeing familiar faces in the photos. Each picture brings back fond memories of my time in the service. It's amusing how every officer believes their era was the golden age of policing. The stories that come out in those private groups are priceless and often inspire the authenticity in my writing that many of you appreciate. I can't wait to see how you all react to my new project in the future! Writing Progress
My main focus for the next few months is to continue writing at my current pace of 1,500 to 2,000 words per day. Whether all of these words make it into the final manuscript is the big question, but the editing process is always a crucial part of writing. The feedback from my editors is invaluable, and it's a great sign of progress when their input becomes shorter and refined. To keep up with my progress, follow me on social media, it's rather entertaining! Reviews Please!I really need your help to widen the Ian Austin Author message. So many readers tell me they enjoy the books but so few leave reviews good, bad or indifferent. I'm really in need of them now... preferably the good ones! If you've read any of my books please let me know what you think, so I can tell others. It's so easy to leave a review on Amazon, on Goodreads if you're a member, on anyone of my social media pages, on my website or by sending me an email. I promised myself many years and many books ago that I wouldn't make them up, even from what people verbally tell me in conversation. I want to have it in writing so that I can always show comments are genuine, at the moment that's hurting me but there you go. Here's the not so polite bit - don't think about doing it and put it off. Please do it now, you can read the rest of the newsletter later! Special Offer for Book Groups!
Calling all book and reading groups in New Zealand and the UK! If you'd like some free books to read, please get in touch. Send me a message with the number of members in your group.
