Diploma Pickup for our Fall Graduates
Congratulations to our graduate students who have successfully completed their degrees this fall! Diplomas are available to pick up at our office at Graduate Studies which is on the fifth floor of the Tory Building (512) between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Diplomas will be held until Nov. 28. Formal presentation of degrees and certificates in the Fall will be made in June 2026. Graduates will be notified by email to their Carleton email address of all the pertinent convocation ceremony details in mid-May. National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
On Dec. 4, the Faculty of Engineering and Design and the Feminist Institute of Social Transformation invite the Carleton community to commemorate Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The commemoration begins at 12:15 p.m. in the Minto Centre lobby and honours the 14 women killed at École Polytechnique in 1989. Remarks will be followed by a moment of silence and an allyship pledge.SSHRC Storytellers Info Session
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) has launched its next Storytellers Challenge and will be taking submissions until Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. Details, including the competition process and eligibility criteria, are available here. Registration for the Winter 2026 cohort of TLS’s Preparing to Teach (PTT) certificate is open to upper-year doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows with little or no experience designing and teaching a course of their own. The Winter 2026 cohort meets on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting on Jan. 14 and ending on March 25. The Carleton women’s basketball team struck gold at the 2025 FISU 3x3 Basketball University World Cup in Brasilia, Brazil on Nov. 17. The Ravens swept through all five games at the competition to capture the title for the first time in program history, and the first time that a Canadian school has won the University World Cup title! TA Pedagogical Training Hub:
Training Modules Close Nov. 28A reminder that Teaching Assistants (TAs) have until the end of this month to complete your TA Pedagogical training if you wish to get paid for it. Please make sure to complete the training module (pass the post-workshop quiz) before Friday, Nov. 28 at noon. At that time, the modules will close for this term, and they will reopen on Jan. 7. say, paws-itive) mental health and wellness supports to our community. All of our dogs are handled by professional staff and faculty members at Carleton, and their Handlers work to create welcoming and supportive environments that can provide low intensity, yet effective coping strategies for mental health and wellness.
