What to expect during the work
Isaac Construction will be using a hydro excavator to dig small holes to check the location of underground services.
If you live along Brougham Street near where the crews are working, you may hear the noise from the hydro vac truck. It uses high pressure water to avoid damage to underground services and the compacting to refill the hole can cause ground vibration.
Where possible, the noisiest work will be completed earlier in the night to limit noise disruption as much as possible.
The crews will spend around 1.5 hours at each location before moving onto the next area. There are a total of 72 test locations within the berm, footpath, outer lane/parking areas and within the central median island.
The holes from each of these investigations will be backfilled, compacted and sealed before the crews move to the next location.
Work will start from Barrington Street and will continue east towards Wilsons Road over 14 night shifts. We will be working on both the north and south side of Brougham Street.
Most of the work can be done in light rain. If heavy rain is forecast there may be some delays.
