Hello everyone, 

At the Information Centre we were happy to say farewell to a very quiet February and welcome March with open arms. March is looking very busy with plenty of activities including Tastes of Rutherglen, Tastes of Art Show, Rutherglen Ballroom Festival, Rutherglen Reimagined along with regular monthly activities.

We welcomed a new volunteer at the end of February, Michele Sadlowski. Michele is going to help when she can as she also volunteers at Corowa Federation Museum and Corowa Revamp Op Shop.

Don’t forget – our team is here to assist you to create or renew your Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) website business listing. Once again, Council is subsidising the cost of renewal for your ATDW business listing, normally $295. Tastes of Rutherglen

Tastes of Rutherglen kicks off this weekend and it's not too late to grab your ticket! This is your chance to explore 17 world-class wineries, taste over 200 wines, indulge in gourmet food pairings, and experience exclusive masterclasses and special events - right in the heart of vintage season.

Celebrate local creativity at the Tastes of Art Exhibition opening night, where you can meet talented painters, photographers, sculptors, and emerging young artists and enjoy their showcased works. Tickets for the gala opening are $20 for adults and $8 for students, with bookings required to secure your spot.

The exhibition continues daily from Saturday 8 March through to Sunday 16 March, open 10:00am to 4:00pm with a $5 entry fee, providing a wonderful opportunity to appreciate and potentially purchase unique artworks that support our vibrant local arts community.

Chiltern Visitor Information Centre Update

Hello everyone,

What a fantastic Autumn Market we had in Chiltern this past Sunday! The weather was wonderful, bringing loads of visitors who enjoyed great music and an all-around vibrant atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such a success. 

This week we welcomed back Jen Littlechild at Visitor Information Centre - please drop by and say hello.

Take advantage with the last of the warmer weather this weekend with live music this Sunday at Barnawartha Star Hotel from 1:00pm. Go for lunch and enjoy the tunes throughout the afternoon.  

While the Chiltern Goods Shed is closed until further notice, if your visitors are looking for a piece of history to view in Chiltern, why not check out the Old Police Lock Up? The Lock Up offers a fascinating glimpse into colonial crime and justice history. The cells, which opened in 1874, are available to explore. Simply visit the Chiltern Visitor Information Centre to borrow the key when doing the Rex Fuge walk.

Join Tourism North East on the journey to help ensure Victoria’s High Country is a holiday destination that is welcoming for people of all abilities and diverse access needs.

Tourism North East is inviting tourism businesses to participate in an explorative process to identify opportunities and gaps to promote accessibility and inclusiveness. The program will support up to 20 operators across the region.
