Piles installed in our work site at 18 Waihoehoe Road. Construction update | Mahi hangatangaOur crew have been hard at work over the last few weeks installing bridge piles ahead of construction of the new Waihoehoe Road bridge later this year. The piles are up to 37m long to provide a solid foundation for the bridge - which will have up to 6 lanes to provide access to the new Drury Railway Station. The final piles will be installed in February and the concrete caps will be finished in March. Piles on the western side of the rail line along Tui Street (below). |

Update on 232 Great South RoadTemporary fencing has been put around the Drury Lane building at 232 Great South Road for security while we do inspections and test for asbestos. Removal of this building is planned for early February and will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. The 2-storey building at the northern end of 232 Great South Road (formerly Koko Classics and others) will be initially retained for potential use by the project team. The start of construction on the cleared site will depend on the construction programme to be agreed with the contractor once the main construction contract is awarded. The site is likely to remain fenced off in the meantime. We'll be salvaging bricks from the well on site and handing over to the community to be repurposed. The majority will be made available to the Drury Community Committee and others to Papakura Museum. We can hold some aside for other expressions of interest – you can reach the project team on the contact details below. |
