Second-Year Move-In Information
Second-Year Move-In Dates:
Friday, August 25 | Arrival times run from 8am to 5pm
Saturday, August 26 | Arrival times run from 8am to 5pm
Sunday, August 27 | Arrival times run from 8am to 5pm

In case you need to change your arrival time due to inclement weather or other unforeseen travel challenges, please email living@upenn.edu with any concerns.

Specific Accommodation Requests

2023 SYO Events Calendar is Live!
Second-Year Orientation (SYO) is packed with events that will re-introduce you to all the amazing resources on campus and to reconnect with your peers! Check out some of the many events and opportunities that you have to look forward to. We will also hand out physical copies of the calendar on campus during the week - there is a SYO specific insert!
Use the filters at the top of the Events Calendar page to find second-year specific events, such as Preceptorials, PennTracks, and other events! As well as the General Events Calendar page, there is the Second-Year Students page that contains additional information.
Be sure to check your emails tomorrow for more information about additional SYO events from your Class Board! They will send out the registration links, so be sure to register by Friday, August 25!
Dessert Reception at PAFA
Join your fellow second-years for an unforgettable dessert reception at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA)! PAFA is the United States’ first art school & museum. We’re so excited to bring you all here to enjoy this rich cultural landmark. Get ready for a night of dancing, exploring the PAFA exhibits, and enjoying various desserts. Smart casual attire is recommended. You will need to wear your wristband in order to attend. Your college houses will distribute them to you.
President's Welcome Back Reception
Join President Magill and your fellow classmates for free food, live music, giveaways, and more on Tuesday, August 29 from 5pm to 6:30pm on Shoemaker Green! Registration and Penn ID required.

Second-Year Day and
Second-Year Experience
Once classes are underway, we want to make sure that you have access to all of the resources that you need. That's why on Thursday, August 31, from 11am to 1pm, we are hosting Second-Year Day, just for you!
You can explore Penn resources and services available to second-year students. There will be refreshments and raffle prizes! Second-Year Day marks the start of Second-Year Experience (SYE)!
Throughout the academic year, we are committed to the development of Penn’s SYE program, which is designed specifically to address the unique needs of second-year students. For campus partners interested in hosting their own event for second-year students, there are marketing opportunities and grants available, up to $500!
