Intended programme: week commencing 29 June 2020 (weather dependent, therefore subject to change)

State Highway 2 & State Highway 29A: Truck and trailer movements through site access points to move construction plant and deliver materials.  No traffic delays expected. Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

State Highway 29A Eastbound and westbound: Line removal. Left and right lane closure. Sunday 28 June, 8pm to 5am.

State Highway 2 Northbound between Te Maunga roundabout and Exeter Street: New stormwater line works. Right lane closure. Sunday 28 June - Monday 29 June, 8pm to 5am. 

State Highway 2 Southbound between Exeter Street and Te Maunga roundabout: New stormwater line works. Right lane closure. Tuesday 30 June - Thursday 2 July, 8pm to 5am.

Te Maunga roundabout: Line removal. State Highway 2/ Tauranga Eastern Link northbound left and right lane closure. Monday 29 June, 8pm to 5am. 

Maunganui/Girven roundabout: Line removal. State Highway 2, southbound left and rigth lane closure. Tuesday 30 June, 8pm to 5am. 

Advance notice of significant works

  • Girven Road between Gloucester Road and Maunganui/Girven roundabout: Underground service ducting works. Left lane closure. Sunday 5 July - Thursday 9 July, 8pm to 5am. 

Long-term traffic management 

  • State Highway 2 Maunganui Rd: northbound signalised pedestrian crossing is installed for the public to get into the underpass and access the Bayfair Shopping Centre.
  • State Highway 2 between Te Maunga intersection and Concord Avenue: narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
  • Bayfair roundabout: a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
  • Matapihi Road, adjacent to the golf driving range: narrowed lanes and a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
  • Girven Road, near the Bayfair roundabout: narrowed lanes are in place for the duration of the project and the right-turn from the Bayfair Shopping Centre car park onto Girven Road is permanently closed.
  • State Highway 29A near Baypark: narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
  • State Highway 2 Papamoa-bound slip lane at the Te Maunga intersection is permanently closed.
  • State Highway 2 northbound slip lane turning to State Highway 29A from the roundabout is permanently closed.
