Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

Calvary Ryde: A reminder on visitation guidelines

As you will know, on 17 January 2022 we were able to re-open Calvary Ryde to visitors and the outbreak at our home was declared over. As visitors return to spending time with their loved ones again, to ensure we minimize the risk of further transmissions within the home, we would like to highlight the importance of adhering to the visitation guidelines below.

Guidelines for visitors

• Calvary Ryde re-opened to visitors on 17 January 2022.
• Opening hours are 11.00am – 6.00pm. We kindly ask that visitors limit their visit to one (1) hour.
• Visits may only be conducted in the resident’s room at this time.
• In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.
• Each family should nominate the one visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.
• The nominated visitor is required to complete screening requirements before being permitted entry to the home.
• Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.
• As a precaution to keeping residents safe, designated visitors in the near future will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This screening is not yet in place.

We are grateful that you continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care.

Sincerely,

Amanda Bennett
