We want to hear from you by Friday 1 NovemberThe O Mahurangi Alliance stakeholder and engagement team is currently conducting a stakeholder satisfaction survey that closes Friday 1 November. This survey provides you with an opportunity to provide feedback on your experience with our communication and engagement approach and activities. The insights we gather through the survey will help to refine our approach and address any concerns or suggestions you may have around how we engage and communicate. Read more on our communications strategy here. In addition to providing feedback through the survey, we welcome ongoing feedback on our communication strategy at any time. You can reach us via our project email at omahurangi@nzta.govt.nz or by calling 0800 7365 465. |

Temporary Wēiti River channel closureFrom 2 to 8 December, our team will be temporarily closing the Wēiti River channel for one week. This short closure is to enable the commencement of works to construct Pier 4. During the closure, a variety of equipment will be delivered including the much safer transfer of a large drilling rig to the eastern working platform While in place, the channel closure does not affect vessels navigating the river downstream of the worksite and once the work is complete, we will reopen to the current set up with an approximate 18-metre wide navigable gap for vessels to pass through. There will continue to be times, for short periods of the day during our normal working hours, where loads will be lifted over the gap and vessels will be unable to pass. Our normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm. There is also another closure planned for January 2025. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank all river users and neighbours for their patience during the ongoing construction of the new Wēiti River Bridge. Should you have any questions in regard to these closures, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Please note: This map is indicative only and is not to be used for navigational purposes. |

Environmental team members Bridget, Petra, Richie, and Hannah at the IECA conference. O Mahurangi environmental team receive IECA Merit AwardMembers of our O Mahurangi Alliance environmental team attended the annual International Erosion Control Association (IECA) conference recently. The team had entered the project into the annual Environmental Excellence Awards and out of numerous entries from both Australia and New Zealand, we were one of the top 3 finalists. While we didn’t win, the team was awarded ‘Merit’ and received a trophy engraved with a photo of our site on it. O Mahurangi Alliance Environmental Manager Bridget Robinson says, “it is great recognition of all the hard work and the collaboration the project has done to achieve our great outcomes”. |
