Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident Family Member,

Latest update for residents & families of Calvary Cessnock

I am writing to inform you that the next round of testing for residents of Hebburn and Paxton households at Calvary Cessnock has been schedule for Monday, 24 January.

Pleasingly, there have been no further positive cases reported since our last update.

For now, residents in those two households continue to be cared for in their rooms and are being closely monitored for any symptoms.

The testing is in line with advice from the Hunter New England Public Health Unit, and we are continuing to liaise with them about the next steps and when it might be safe to further lift restrictions or re-open all of the Nulkaba households.

We were pleased to be able to lift restrictions on the other four Nulkaba households earlier this week, allowing residents of Kalingo, Elrington, Rothbury and Neath to leave their rooms and move about within their own household.

For the moment however, all of the Nulkaba households will remain closed for general visitation until the public health unit deems it safe to reopen, with exceptions for end of life and compassionate visits. Please also contact the home if you wish to book a video call with your loved one or if you have any concerns.

We anticipate our next update to residents and families will be on Friday, unless there are any changes that need to be communicated before then.

Thank you again for your continued understanding at this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Bryan McLoughlinRegional CEO – NSW & QLD
