Outreach Initiative

Sarah Eaton, DVM, DABVP (Equine), Outreach Chair

The ABVP information PowerPoint can be accessed and used by all ABVP Diplomates. This is a great resource to use for branded ABVP slides as well as background information. The PowerPoint can be used in its entirety or slides taken and used as needed.

If you or an ABVP colleague has done something new, interesting, exciting, or fun, please let Outreach know so we can share on social media! The Humble Brag form can be accessed below. Help share what makes ABVP a great group of specialists!

Join an ABVP Cohort

Renee Rucinksy, DVM, DABVP (Feline)

Do you feel like you wish you could hang out more with your colleagues? Would you like to find other specialists that are kinda like you? Let's find you a cohort group! We are (slowly) assembling groups of similar sorts of folks to meet up zoom-wise on a semi regular basis (your own group will decide) to share thoughts and ideas and maybe some beverages. We have a suggestion of a dental group and a small practice owner group (1-2 docs) so far, but what else do we want? Are you struggling with dealing with being a vet and want to vent about that? Do you want to find other triathletes to talk about brick training? Do you secretly love Hello Kitty? Do you love feline diabetes and just want to talk about that all day (ok, I know that's really just me talking to myself)

If you want to join or suggest a cohort please contact Renee Rucinsky.

Streamlined Credentialing Pathway

Have you considered becoming double (or triple) boarded? Now there is an easier way to do just that! ABVP has a streamlined credentialing pathway for existing Diplomates. Rather than earning 100 case points in a different RVS, current ABVP Diplomates seeking an additional board certification in a different RVS are only required to earn 50 case points via either one (1) case report, five (5) case summaries (may submit up to 6) or 1 publication (may submit up to 2) to pass credentialing. See the 2024 ABVP Applicant Handbook for more information.

VIN Rounds

ABVP is happy to partner with VIN to make Rounds available to all ABVP Diplomates. You must be a VIN member and/or an ABVP Diplomate to attend. Those who attend the live session earn 1 hour of CE credit. Sessions are also recorded for viewing later with NO CE credit attached.

Save The Date!

Antimicrobial Stewardship in Small Animal General Practice
Emily Marcus, DVM, CVA, DABVP (Canine & Feline)

If you have not received access to VIN, please email VIN directly at rounds@vin.com. ABVP cannot assist with access since Rounds are on the VIN platform.

If you are a newer Diplomate and interested in presenting, please email ce@abvp.com. Each lecture is about 50 minutes long and you will need to keep an eye on your lecture's message board after the lecture for a couple of weeks. VIN will pay you for your lecture. ABVP will help you with your lecture by assigning you a mentor, if you would like.
