The Great South Update November 2021 The Great South team share the disappointment that many will be feeling at the cancellation of some of our most significant annual events. Both the Burt Munro Challenge and Southern Field Days organisers were forced, understandably, to cancel their 2022 events over the last couple of weeks. These are headline events which attract thousands of people to the region and provide a real stimulus to our economy. But just as importantly these events, and many others, allow us as Southlanders to get together, have some fun, do some business and celebrate what differentiates us and makes our place unique. Despite this current disappointment, we have to think ahead and expect that we will be enjoying our events again, hopefully soon, and once again inviting visitors to join us without restriction. With this longer term perspective in mind we are delighted to be launching our new “You won’t want to miss” events pages on our promotional website southlandnz.com. Please take the opportunity to visit the pages and be entertained and inspired by the great content the Great South team have prepared. This will be used for some years to help promote our events and the region in general as a great place to visit.
