Our Next Meeting
Barnet VCFSE Environmental Network

Thursday 21 April, 10.30 - 12noon

If you've already been to a Barnet VCFSE Environmental Network meeting then you'll automatically receive a MS Teams link for our 14th on 21 April.

If you've not joined us yet, then do email Ellen. These are informal and informative networking sessions for those working in the Barnet Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector, where we can come together to discuss environmental issues in the Borough, and work out how we as a sector can make a difference.

This networking group will raise awareness of environmental projects that are happening in the Borough, help to establish partnerships and joint initiatives and seek funding opportunities.

If you have any topics you would like to raise/discuss at future meetings, do let Ellen know.

Barnet Council Consultations

A1000 Cycle Route: In late 2020, the council installed a ‘pop-up’ cycle lane on the A1000 from just south of North Finchley Town Centre to the borough boundary with Haringey as a response to Covid-19 impacts on public transport. Following feedback from central Government on all Covid related transport schemes, the Government’s requirements are that a thorough consultation should take place on such schemes prior to making them permanent or if a council decides to alter or remove them.
Have a look at what Barnet Council are proposing, and submit your comments by 12 August 2022.

Clitterhouse Playing Fields: Clitterhouse Playing Fields sits at the heart of the new Brent Cross Town and the existing nearby community. It is the largest green space in Brent Cross Town at around 44 acres. Despite its size, the range of facilities is low, creating a significant opportunity to improve it for the existing and future residents of Brent Cross Town and for the wider community to enjoy. Barnet Council are now holding a series of events where the team will be on-hand to discuss your vision for Clitterhouse Playing Fields and hear your thoughts and ideas.
How to have your say at one of their consultation events:
Thursday 17 March (TODAY!) (4pm-7pm) at the Brent Cross Town WorkShop, on Claremont Way, NW2 1AJ
Sunday 20 March (11am-3pm) at the Brent Cross Town WorkShop, on Claremont Way, NW2 1AJ
Saturday 26 March (11am-3pm) at Clitterhouse Farm, Claremont Road, NW2 1AP
Or join them online on Wednesday 23 March 2022, 6:30pm – 7:30pm. Register to take part.
