Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

10 February 2022

Dear Resident or Family Member,

Update for Residents and Families of Calvary St Francis

I am pleased to inform residents and families that all tested Calvary St Francis residents have received negative results from the latest round of testing. In line with Hunter New England Public Health Unit advice, we now are able to lift the current restrictions at Calvary St Francis.

St Francis will welcome visitors back from tomorrow, Friday 11 February 2022.

Important information for visitors

  • Consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, there is now no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day for homes where there is no outbreak.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) whilst visiting. This includes face mask and shield. Calvary will provide you with the necessary PPE.
  • As a precaution to keep our residents, staff and other visitors safe, all visitors will also be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • All visitors will need to book their visit in advance. Please contact 4942 7477 during business hours to make your booking.
  • Visiting hours are between 11am and 4pm. This relates to visitors’ arrival on site. Once inside, visitors may stay longer.
  • We understand that there may sometimes need to be exceptions to visiting hours. If so, please make prior arrangements with the home manager – contact 4942 7477.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with the home manager.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time, and very much look forward to receiving visitors back into the home. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

Sincerely,

Sandeep Kandel
General Manager, Aged Care
