The leaves are starting to change colour and fall; Autumn is well and truly here. With plenty of environment activities and events lined up, you'll have no shortage of things to do this April.

Reducing the wildlife road toll community forum

Nearly sixty people attended the 'Reducing the Wildlife Road Toll' community forum earlier this year. Attendees included Cr Pearce and Cr Anderson, alongside concerned residents and wildlife rehabilitators from as far away as Ballarat.

 

Speakers included Lisa Palma, CEO of Wildlife Victoria, Linda Healy from the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network, Dr Kylie Soanes, Melbourne University and Eng Lim, Manager Engineering and Resource Recovery from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council.

Bird walk for beginners

Thursday 18 April, Jacksons Creek

 

Join bird enthusiast and Council’s Biodiversity Officer, Tanya, along Jacksons Creek for an hour with the birds.

Healthy Landscapes - Growing the Community evening

This showcase evening will bring together land managers from across the region that have, and want, to make their land healthier by using less chemicals and creating healthier soils and waterways.

 

The evening will feature a panel discussion of leading local farmers and land managers sharing the stories of their journey.

Grants of up to $20,000 are open to volunteer groups and networks, including Landcare groups and networks, Friends groups, Conservation Management Networks, Committees of Management, Coastcare groups and Aboriginal groups.
