Following our last update to residents and families, I am writing to advise that through the current testing regime, there are several more residents and a staff member who have tested positive for COVID-19 today. This brings the total number in the current outbreak to seven (7) residents and 1 staff member..
Calvary Kingston Gardens remains closed for general visitation. For the safety of residents and staff and in consultation with the Public Health Unit, Calvary Kingston Gardens remains closed to visitors until the Public Health Unit deems it safe to re-open. Residents in Jasmine and Blossom will need to remain, and continue to be cared for, in their rooms. The residents in Blue Gum and Ti Tree are able to mingle in their units.
We understand that it is very difficult for residents to be cared for in their rooms and not have visitors. Please be assured that our team will continue to ensure the holistic care needs of all residents are met and calls and video conferencing is available for loved ones to remain in contact.
Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.
Please be assured that our staff have prepared for COVID-19 exposures and outbreaks such as this. Our staff are trained in strict infection control procedures and are focusing all of their attention on the individual care needs of residents. We will update you again as soon as any information becomes available. We know that this will be worrying for you and your loved ones in our care. We want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to continue to look after the health and wellbeing of all our residents while keeping them safe during this difficult time.
You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience at this time.
Sincerely,
