Did you know September is one of the best times to spot a platypus in Victoria? Head down to a quiet, calm area on your local creek or river 30 minutes before sunrise or sunset and look out for v-shaped ripples and sudden trails of bubbles.

If you do spot a platypus, you can help researchers understand more about this elusive creature by taking part in the platy-project and recording your sighting.

Want to help raise awareness for threatened species while you bake? Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Threatened Species Bake Off by creating an edible threatened animal or plant and sharing your masterpiece in one of six competition categories.
