Kia ora,

The Southern Corridor Improvements project is continuing under COVID-19 Level 2. Please find below the schedule for upcoming motorway night closures for the week commencing Sunday 6 September. Please note that closures may change at any time due to weather, construction or COVID-19 conditions.

Traffic notices provide a brief overview of temporary night closures and road layout changes for the coming week.

Sunday 6 September – Saturday 12 September

Sunday 6 September – Thursday 10 September

  • Closure of Takanini northbound off-ramp and on-ramp between 9pm and 5am.
  • Closure of Takanini southbound on-ramp between 9pm and 5am.
  • Multi-lane closure of Great South Road eastbound and westbound at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am.
  • Full closure of the Great South Road end of Spartan Road between 9pm and 5am. No access to Spartan Road from Great South Road.


Upcoming Closures (subject to change)
 

Sunday 13 September – Thursday 17 September

  • Full closure of all southbound lanes from Manukau to Takanini between 10pm and 5am. This includes full closure of on-ramps at Redoubt Road, Lambie Drive and SH20-1 Link and the Hill Road off-ramp between 9pm and 5am.
  • Full closure of all northbound lanes from Papakura to Takanini between 10pm and 5am. This includes full closure of all northbound on-ramps at Beach Road and Beach Road Loop and the Takanini northbound off-ramp between 9pm and 5am.
  • Multi-lane closure of Great South Road eastbound and westbound at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am.
  • Full closure of the Great South Road end of Spartan Road between 9pm and 5am. No access to Spartan Road from Great South Road.

 

Looking Ahead

Weather and COVID-19 conditions permitting, full night time closures will continue, affecting sections of both northbound and southbound lanes of the Southern Motorway between Manukau and Papakura.
