Team maps seismic hazards for safer urban planning

After seven years of research, earth sciences professor Sheri Molnar and her team have created detailed seismic hazard maps for Metro Vancouver, enhancing risk analysis and urban planning to better prepare for earthquake impacts.

More than 1,400 education professionals from over 85 countries visited campus for the International ACAC conference, featuring workshops, fairs and social events focused on supporting students' transition to higher education.

Driving sustainable innovation in the fishing industry

Global software outage 
Due to an outage with security software CrowdStrike, some devices across Western may be temporarily inoperable today. Western Technology Services and campus IT teams are working hard to resolve these issues and bring devices back online. Some services across campus may be disrupted. Contact the WTS Helpdesk or your unit IT support if you require assistance.

Leadership development 
Human Resources is offering a series of Excellence in Leadership workshops until the end of August. Topics include emotional intelligence, supporting an employee's mental health, challenging conversations and leadership learning plans.
