State Highway 1 - North of Ōtaki to South of Ōhau

From 12 January, a temporary speed reduction will be placed on two sections of State Highway 1 – between  Pukehou Overbridge, north of Ōtaki, and Manakau and between Manakau and Ōhau.

These sections will be changed from 100kmh to 80kmh to reduce the safety risks associated with the increased volume of construction traffic related to Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL) expressway construction. With high volumes of heavy construction vehicles entering and existing the highway, a lower speed limit gives all road users more time to see, react and stay safe. • Wednesday during the day, 9am – 3pm
