TLU Updates for Alumni & Friends No images? Click here
A Message from the TLU Alumni Board President: Joshua Lozano '10 Welcome to another exciting year in the TLU community! To our newest Bulldogs, congratulations on beginning this important chapter of your journey at Texas Lutheran University. We hope the year ahead is filled with opportunities to learn, grow, build lasting friendships, and discover all that it means to be a Bulldog. As you begin your TLU experience, know that you are becoming part of a community that extends far beyond your years on campus. As your Alumni Board President, one of my goals this year is to strengthen the connection between our alumni and the university. We want to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to remain engaged, support our students, and help tell the TLU story to future generations of Bulldogs. Throughout the year, the Alumni Board will host a variety of events and opportunities to connect, including alumni panel discussions, local alumni meetups, and conversations about how we can continue to support the TLU community. We look forward to hearing from alumni about their experiences, expertise, and ideas, while creating opportunities for our current students to benefit from the incredible network of Bulldogs who have come before them. Another priority for me as president is helping bridge the gap between our alumni and activities happening on campus. By increasing alumni awareness and engagement with campus programs, new degree plans, student organizations, and other initiatives, we can help build a stronger community while showcasing the many ways TLU continues to grow. Our alumni have an important role to play in sharing their stories and helping prospective students and families understand what makes the TLU experience so special. We also hope to introduce Table Talks during campus events, creating a welcoming space where family, friends, students, and alumni can connect and learn from one another. These conversations will provide another opportunity to build positive relationships and demonstrate that being a Bulldog doesn’t end at graduation; it is a lifelong connection. Whether you are a new student just beginning your TLU journey, a proud parent or family member, or an alumnus who has been away from campus for years, there is a place for you in this community. We invite you to stay connected, attend an upcoming event, share your ideas, and come say hello whenever you see the Alumni Board on campus or in your community. We look forward to seeing you at our next TLU alumni meetup and throughout the year. Please don’t hesitate to stop by, introduce yourself, and start a conversation. Together, we can continue building a strong, engaged, and connected Bulldog community. Go Bulldogs!
August is National Make-A-Will MonthIt is a time set aside to remind people of the importance of making a plan to manage their assets and protect their loved ones after they’re gone. Have you been considering ways to leave your legacy while also ensuring your family and loved ones are protected? A will ensures your assets are distributed according to your wishes and allows you to leave your own unique legacy that’s based on your beliefs and values. Including a charitable donation in your will can support causes you care about and leave a lasting impact for future generations. Plus, it’s easy to do and TLU can help. If you’ve never created a will, or if it’s time to update an existing one, there’s no better time to get started than during Make-A-Will Month. It’s easier than you might think and in addition to your financial advisor, or legal counsel, there are several free resources available to help.
