Indigenous youth are getting a taste of campus life this summer under the mentorship of professors, students, Indigenous advisors and community members through Mini-University.

Researchers uncover forgotten burial ground in Ingersoll

Indigenous studies and history professor Cody Groat and history student Rebecca Small are using the burial log to explore the history of community members buried in the potter's field in Ingersoll.

In an effort to memorialize those laid to rest in an unmarked section of Ingersoll’s cemetery called the “potter’s field," a team of historians, archaeologists and students is exploring their life stories.

Next week, engineering grad and Academic All-Canadian Kate Current is competing in the 1500-metre at the 2024 Olympic Games thanks to meticulous planning, dedication and the support of Mustangs coach Guy Shultz.

Civic holiday   
Western is observing the civic holiday on Monday, Aug. 5. 

Road and bridge closures
Philip Aziz Avenue and Wellington Drive will be closed to motor vehicles periodically until 11 a.m. on Aug. 4 to accommodate the Ontario Summer Games.  

University Drive bridge will be closed to motor vehicles from 6 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, for an annual inspection. It will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists. LTC buses will be rerouted. Drivers are asked to enter campus from Western Road.
