Night works progressing to SH76 this weekend

With final surfacing works nearing completion on State Highway1 (SH1) Main South Road this week, work will be moving to SH76 on the Christchurch Southern Motorway Stage 2 Project.

From this Sunday 28 February until Friday 26 March, we will be undertaking final surfacing on SH76, on the new motorway between SH1 and Halswell Junction Road.

The work will be undertaken mainly at night, between 7pm and 7am. Occassionly there will be some daytime work, which will mainly take place on Sundays.

The work is very weather dependent, so be ready for possible schedule delays and changes.

Speed restrictions will be in place and there will be lane closures through the works area. The traffic lane will be reduced to 3.5m wide while surfacing work takes place.

Please follow all the construction site signage and drive to the conditions.

Please take it quietly

We apologise for the disruption night works are causing neighbours and road users.

This type of work can be noisy so the team is making every effort to reduce these effects where possible.

Motorists can also help to reduce noise for nearby residents by braking and accelerating gently when passing through road works.

Larger vehicles can help by minimising engine braking and taking it quietly down side roads.
