The Royal Society of Canada recognized seven Western scholars for their outstanding contributions to the arts, humanities and sciences. Six professors were elected Fellows and one was named a Member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.

Western’s new $44M Pathogen Research Centre

Western has begun building a $44-million Pathogen Research Centre, the first of its kind in Canada for infectious disease research. Supported by federal and provincial funding, the facility will unite advanced containment labs and manufacturing of therapeutics for clinical trials under one roof at Western Research Parks.

Welcoming the Class of 2029

More than 6,500 new students are starting their Western journeys this fall, beginning with Orientation Week activities, including concerts, games, faculty programming and community volunteering. Thanks to all those who help make the week a success.

Leading in sexual violence prevention

Western is setting a national standard in gender-based and sexual violence prevention training with its Mustangs for Consent program, which has now reached all undergraduate students since it was launched in 2022.

Western’s Free Store opening Sept. 10
Starting Sept. 10, you can shop for gently used household items and academic supplies each Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Arts and Humanities Building, Rm. 1B09. Donations continue to be accepted.
