Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

Important Update for Residents and Families: Positive COVID-19 exposure identified at Calvary Sandhurst, Victoria

I am writing to inform you that (2) residents tested positive via Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) on 13 January 2022 bringing the total number of active cases to (2).

Another round of RAT testing will ocur on 19 January 2022.

Are visitors allowed?

In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours 10.00 a.m. to  4.00 p.m. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.

What should I do prior to visiting?

Each family should nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is . The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.

Please call the home in advance prior to visiting so we may prepare for your visit.

What are the requirements when visiting?

All visitors are required to wear Tier 3 PPE and have a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) prior to entry. The PPE and RAT tests are provided by the home.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

Thank you to our residents for your cooperation during this recent exposure period. To our families, we are grateful that you continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care, and look forward to receiving visitors  into the home.

Sincerely,

Dana IericiGeneral Manager Aged Care
