Free workshops, new enrolment process and a 99th birthday celebration!

It’s hard to believe we’re already past the halfway point of Term 1!

As the number of programs and participants at BCC continue to grow, we are always looking for ways to make things easier for our community. We’re pleased to share an exciting improvement to the way we manage class bookings.

From Term 2, our class booking and re-enrolment process will move to a new online platform called Social Planet. This new system will make enrolling in classes simpler, faster, and more convenient for everyone.

Priority re-enrolments will open on 16 March 2026 and booking links will be emailed directly to students currently enrolled in these classes. All other classes are open for enrolment now.

Please be patient with office staff whilst we learn this new system alongside you. You can read more about how the new system works, including step-by-step booking instructions, via the link below.

Share the Dignity

This March we're proud to be a collection point for the Share the Dignity Drive. From now until March 31st, we’ll be collecting donations of:

  • Pads & tampons
  • Period underwear
  • Personal hygiene products

All items must be new and unopened. Drop your donations in our Dignity Drive box at the office and be part of spreading dignity and kindness to women and girls experiencing period poverty. Every contribution makes a real difference.

Student art on display

Next time you are in the Centre, head upstairs and admire the fabulous work created by our talented art students, now proudly displayed in the gallery space. It’s a wonderful showcase of the creativity happening in our classes.

If you have a piece you’d like to contribute to the display, have a chat with your art tutor – we’d love to feature more of our community’s artwork!

Social Card Game - join the fun!

Our Canasta group is a relaxed and social way to connect with others while enjoying this classic card game. It’s all about good company, a little strategy and enjoying every hand.

We’re also keen to hear from anyone interested in playing Solo — if that sounds like you, please get in touch!

Pre-purchase tickets for our groups

Do you attend one of our special interest groups - like scrabble, table tennis or mahjong? If finding the $5 cash each week is a little inconvenient, we’ve got you covered! You can now purchase attendance tickets in a sheet of 10 for just $45. That means you’re getting every 10th visit free! Simply pre-purchase your tickets from the office and enjoy the games without worrying about bringing cash along.

During January our wonderful Social Watercolour tutor, Pat, turned an incredible 99 years old! The group came together recently to celebrate - with cake of course!

Pat’s love of art and her gentle, generous spirit continue to inspire everyone around her. Come along and join the group - everybody's welcome!
