NEWS UPDATE07 August 2026 Publishers noteMany across the industry are understandably a little weary after last weekend’s boat show. Participation in events of this scale can be tiring, and much of the real work begins immediately afterwards through follow-ups, boat tests and reconnecting with the opportunities identified during the event. While those opportunities can continue for months, striking while the iron is hot tends to produce many of the most positive results. The event itself generated plenty of industry news, including the release of a Boating Data Report Card, the presentation of a Sustainability award, the announcement of the Apprentice of the Year, and recognition of Association members who have supported the industry for more than 50 years. Congratulations to everyone involved. I had the opportunity to visit the show twice: firstly, to attend the official opening, and secondly, to spend some time walking the show floor. My thanks to the BIA for the invitation, and to everyone who took the time to stop and chat. It was pleasing to see the diversity of products on display and the pride with which they were presented. Exhibiting at boat shows has long been part of the industry’s DNA, with early records showing Halvorsen displaying its products at the Sydney Easter Show as far back as the early 1930s. This week’s Marine Business News reflects that same diversity. We report on people, products, appointments, data, launches, education, achievements and a whole lot more. We do hope you enjoy this week’s Marine Business News. #ETRWYW Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
