Applications Due for Exemplary Dual Enrollment Awards
November 30th is the deadline to apply for the second round of California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Awards. This round of awards is open to middle college high schools, early college high schools, and alternative education schools with dual enrollment.
Award criteria include: college partnership, equity, integration with college and district plans and frameworks, dual credit, outcome data, pathways, and student support.
Teacher Spotlight: Nick Wisely and Antioch High School
Nick Wisely has taught at Antioch High School for more than nine years where he coaches football and softball while teaching the Career Choices series.
"The Get Focused, Stay Focused curriculum is amazing for our students at Antioch High,” said Wisely. “The program gives our students hope by providing the light at the end of the tunnel."
Antioch High School has won six medals since implementing the Career Choices curriculum as a part of their Get Focused Stay Focused program.
According to GreatSchools, Antioch places higher than the California State Average in graduation rate and has consistently shown improvement in ACT and SAT college readiness.
