Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration - 11:30 a.m.
Please join us today for our systemwide virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. Click here to watch the live celebration at 11:30 a.m. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Virgil Wood, EdD, MDiv., a church leader, educator and civil rights activist, who served alongside Dr. King. The event also includes beautiful music by The Phillip Hall Singers of Houston and inspiring remarks from Arianne Dowdell, our Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. If you are unable to join for the premiere, a link to the recording will be provided to all employees.
Over-the-Counter COVID-19 Test Covered by HM Medical Plan
As of Jan.15, the Houston Methodist employee medical plan will cover over-the-counter COVID-19 tests for the duration of the national emergency. Coverage is limited to eight tests per calendar month for each covered employee and dependent and limited to $12 per test. We are working with CVS, Allegiance and Quantum to ensure we are communicating the most accurate information on how this program will work. Click here for details on how to access the OTC COVID-19 test coverage. Any test purchased prior to Jan. 15 will not be covered.
Booster Vaccine Mandate
Last week Dr. Boom announced that all employees are required to get a booster dose – by Jan. 31 for management and March 1 for all other employees. Please review the FAQ brochure with additional information. Click here for instructions on submitting documentation if you received your booster outside of Houston Methodist.
COVID-19 Cases in the Hospital
