Read the full report... UKESF Scholarship Scheme open for applications We’re delighted that 50 employers from the Electronics and Technology industry are offering UKESF Scholarships this year. The Scholarships are now open to undergraduates at our 29 partner universities. Apply here... If you’re an employer and interested in getting involved in the Scheme, click here... 'Spark their Imagination' supports students in Wales To date, more than 200 pupils have attended events in Wales as part of the programme. These events have introduced young people to the many exciting opportunities of studying and working in Electronics. Read more... The programme also included the Welsh Sparc Award. There were 24 talented recipients of the award who will receive support, including a bursary and mentoring, alongside the first year of their degree. Read more... Encouraging more young people to study Electronics UKESF Girls into Electronics 2024 was a huge success This summer, nearly 400 young women (aged 14 - 17), from over 100 different schools and colleges, attended one of the 12 events hosted by our brilliant partner universities. 88% of participants felt more enthused about Electronics after attending! Connecting undergraduates and employers UKESF Scholars Workshop develops non-technical skills The Workshop took place in August in York, and it was a thought provoking and exciting week. The packed agenda explored human behaviour, ethics, negotiation, managing diverse teams, sustainability, cyber security, as well as advice on networking, CV’s and entrepreneurship. Prompted by industry wide reports that contributed to the discourse on work readiness over the last few years, the UKESF explored how prepared Electronics graduates are to enter the workforce. Innovate UK funding for the UK graphene research and fabrication technology foundry Paragraf® will use the investment to establish the world's first 2D materials device foundry, initially focusing on graphene. The UKESF is a key partner on this project, and we will perform a feasibility study to identify future skills needs for technicians, and deliver a ‘proof-of-concept’ training course.
