Sparc Award Celebration Event

'Spark their Imagination' supports students in Wales

To date, more than 200 pupils have attended events in Wales as part of the programme. These events have introduced young people to the many exciting opportunities of studying and working in Electronics. Read more...

The programme also included the Welsh Sparc Award. There were 24 talented recipients of the award who will receive support, including a bursary and mentoring, alongside the first year of their degree. Read more...

Girls into Electronics Event

UKESF Girls into Electronics 2024 was a huge success

This summer, nearly 400 young women (aged 14 - 17), from over 100 different schools and colleges, attended one of the 12 events hosted by our brilliant partner universities. 88% of participants felt more enthused about Electronics after attending! Read more...

Innovate UK funding for the UK graphene research and fabrication technology foundry

Paragraf® will use the investment to establish the world's first 2D materials device foundry, initially focusing on graphene. The UKESF is a key partner on this project, and we will perform a feasibility study to identify future skills needs for technicians, and deliver a ‘proof-of-concept’ training course. Read more…

Together, we can tackle the skills shortage in Electronics

There are many ways you can help us to deliver greater impact, including:

  • Getting involved in our activities. Explore ‘What we do’ to find out more about our work and ways you can get involved through outreach, funding and volunteering.
  • Donating. As a registered education charity, we are eligible to received donations. Our work aims to provide practical, direct and engaging support to young people to help improve their awareness of Electronics and provide opportunities for skills development.
  • Supporting us as your Charity of the Year. If your organisation appoints a Charity of the Year, consider choosing the UKESF and we will work with you to identify how we can use the funds you raise, or the time you can give, to support the next generation of Electronics engineers.
