Healthy hearts grow in homes where children feel safe, seen, and supported.

For children in foster care and on the path to adoption, emotional well-being is strengthened when caregivers don’t have to navigate challenges alone. Times of stress, transition, or uncertainty are part of the journey and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

We encourage caregivers and families to stay connected by attending support groups, participating in trainings, and continuing to build their knowledge and skills. Our programs and services are here to offer guidance, resources, and community during difficult moments and beyond. When families are supported, children thrive and healing, growth, and resilience become possible.

The Delaney Family Story

This month, we are thrilled to share the inspiring journey of the Delaney family, who have been fostering with All for Kids since 2020. What began as a simple desire to help children has blossomed into a life-changing passion for their family. Over the years, they have fostered five children, adopted two, and embraced the joys and challenges of being resource parents. Their story is a testament to the power of unconditional love, resilience, and the importance of a strong support system.

The Delaneys have faced many ups and downs, from navigating the unknowns of foster care to celebrating the adoption of their two daughters in July 2024. Through it all, they credit All for Kids for providing unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement. The Delaneys describe their experience with All for Kids in one word: "Supported."

Their journey also highlights the importance of community. With no family nearby, their church has become their extended family, offering meals, caregiving, and emotional support. The Delaneys emphasize that fostering is not just about changing a child’s life—it’s about allowing the experience to transform your own. They encourage anyone considering foster care to surround themselves with a strong support system and embrace the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

The Delaney family’s story is a beautiful reminder of the love and hope that foster care and adoption can bring. To read their full story and learn more about their incredible journey, click here.

We determined from the beginning to love each child for as long as they were in our care and leave the rest to God.

Transracial Adoption and Foster Care

When families open their hearts and homes to a child in need, they often do not know exactly what to expect.  As conversations about prejudice and discrimination become more common, it’s important for families who are considering foster care and/or adoption to be prepared to support their child in the unique challenges they will face.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed as a parent who is adopting transracially, but there is a large community of families navigating the same process. An estimated 44% of US adoptions are now transracial, and this prominent community of families going through the same process has brought about plenty of public discussion, research and communities to guide transracial families.

Help Keep Siblings Together: Become a Resource Parent

Every day, children enter foster care in need of safe, stable homes—and the need is especially urgent for sibling sets. In Los Angeles County alone, there are over 25,000 children in foster care, with more than 200 waiting to be adopted. Many are part of sibling groups, and unfortunately, All For Kids must turn away at least 10 sibling sets each week simply because there aren’t enough families to keep them together.

At All For Kids, we believe strong families and caring adults create a world where every child is safe to grow. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds to consider opening their hearts and homes. We provide training, guidance, and continued support—you won’t be doing it alone.

Have questions or ready to get started? Call us at 800.730.3933 or below to fill out a quick inquiry form.
