NEWS UPDATE26 May 2023 Publishers noteBy the time you receive this email, the first day of the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show will be over, and doors will soon be opening for day two. The event basked in typical Gold Coast weather, with blue skies and a comfortable temperature. The stream of visitors was substantial, with big crowds. Typically, I would suggest that those visiting on day one were on a mission to find something they wanted or needed, but this crowd was different. It looked like people were there for all sorts of reasons—buyers, researchers, leisure seekers. This is the perfect result for our industry, today's buyers together with those preparing to buy in the future. I could write about this subject for hours, but I won't. When an audience is good, it's good. The wide span of displays covered the undercover marquee, the outdoor street displays, and the substantial marina, offering a vast array of products to suit all tastes. Having been involved with shows for a long time, I appreciate the time, effort, and money invested by exhibitors. Congratulations to all for taking part. It is your collective effort that places our industry in the limelight of those with a passion for the outdoors. Internationally, boat shows are doing well. It is good to see Sanctuary Cove having a good show, not only for them but for the prosperity of the broader industry. Shows bring out the best in our industry, and this year is no different, with a huge portfolio of new product releases. At Marine Business News, we endeavor to share those releases as best as we can. There were so many that some missed this eNews; however, we will continue to publish over the coming days. Please visit our website to see them. I have greatly appreciated the chats and feel humbled by the compliments received for Marine Business News. Thank you. I'll be walking the streets, marquee, and marina again over the next few days. Please stop me and say hello. Best wishes to everyone associated with the show in any way. Outside of boat show news, this has been another busy week for us. We have published stories across a wide range of subjects. Notably, some that stood out were the news that Rivergate is on the market, BMW dabbling in boating, saying they are "transferring technology and expertise from the road to the water." They are not alone, as Mercury announced a partnership with JJE to extend the Avator Electric Product line to higher power applications.
