Not only was he the champion of the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, but he also played a key role on boards and as the chairman of other Association bodies. He did so because he cared and wanted to give back to the industry. Well done Barry. I have no doubt that we will continue to see you in the corridors of industry for many years to come. Last week we presented the story ‘Change in the boating customer’ that came from research conducted in the USA. Whilst not all of the results can be applied to the local market, we can understand the type of mindset we need to empower businesses and industry to help us grow and prosper into the future. On the subject of research, this week we shared a snapshot of some local research conducted by the Marina Industries Association. Last month the Boating Industry Association released their “State of the industry survey”. All research is good research and it enables our industry bodies to serve us, it’s members and industry as a whole, much better. The message is simple. To empower our Association bodies to serve us better, we as industry members need to spare time to respond to Industry Research that is being conducted. Lots to read and learn about.
