Take a look at our 2024/25 Annual Report

The Annual Report highlights our key achievements across all Stockport Homes' services.

This year, we have worked closely with our customers to make sure our information is useful, interesting, and accessible. We called this our ‘Big Conversation’ and spoke with customers both online and in person, thank you to everyone involved in this year's report.

You can take the time to flip through information at your leisure by clicking here.

The report will show you how we are performing and delivering our services, how your feedback helps shape and improve them, and how we compare with other housing providers.

We know that not all our customers are online, so we also have a printed version that we are sharing with them. You can access this here.

SKylight Holiday Club

Through our holiday club, we hosted two weeks of crafting, cooking, climbing and canoeing! Following skiing and snowboarding lessons, we provided places for 49 vulnerable young people. During this time they built bug hotels using foraged materials, made abstract prints using the sunlight, crafted photo frames using power tools, paddled along the Mersey and most importantly, made friends whilst gaining new experiences.

"My daughter loved the chance to learn to ski over the past few days. It really helped her come out of her shell, try new things, and boost her confidence. Thank you so much to Dylan and the team."

A day out in Marple for Cultures Together

Twelve members of The Cultures Together Group recently ventured out for a day trip on the New Horizons canal boat in Marple.

They sang Iranian songs, ate biscuits, and drank tea as the boat cruised down the canal. Mary from the group, expressed to us how friendly all the locals were and commented on how many people waved to them as they were passing.

The Cultures Together group meets every Wednesday, 1-3pm at Queens Gardens in Cheadle, where residents get the chance to celebrate cultural diversity, improve access to services, and reduce social isolation.

Would you like to get involved? Email ahc@stockport.gov.uk to express your interest.

Manchester Pride

We recently joined HouseProud to march in the Manchester Pride parade. It was an amazing opportunity to stand together with housing organisations from across the region, showing our commitment to inclusion and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

The streets of Manchester were filled with colour, music and energy, and the atmosphere was incredible as thousands of people lined the parade route to cheer us on.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us or supported from the sidelines!

Residents master the art of coffee making

After just two days on the Skills for Life Barista course, participants learned how to make a variety of delicious hot drinks and were busy taking orders from customers at Cornerstone to put their new skills into practice.

Whether they signed up to try something new or develop their employability skills, courses like these are a great opportunity for our customers.

Advice on bed bugs

Concerned about bed bugs? Here's some things you can do to reduce your chances of getting an infestation:

If you buy any second-hand furniture or clothing, don't take it into your home without checking it thoroughly first and wash or clean the items before use.

Good housekeeping will also help - you should vacuum your house and wash your bedding regularly. Avoid clutter to prevent any hiding places for the bugs.

Use mattress protectors as they can prevent bugs infesting any mattresses. Just make sure they're removed and washed regularly.
