Increasing Visibility For Our Local Businesses & Tourism Operators

Two weeks ago we hosted our first workshop to help operators get set up on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW).

The ATDW was created by Australia’s official tourism bodies.

It is not a consumer facing website.
It is a data distributor for tourism industry.

Designed to create an even playing field for all businesses no matter their size or marketing budget.

Why should we care about being listed
on the ATDW?

Data from the ATDW reaches 80 million+ potential visitors worldwide across 260+ websites and is translated into 10 different languages.

Profiles are not only carried across as listings in directories, but also showcased in blogs, articles and special features like below.

Destination North Coast NSW lists Nambucca Valley as the standout destination for the month of March 2026 - with a 45% increase in visitor spend across the LGA!

The number of tourists visiting the North Coast has increased by over 13% since last year, with cafes, experiences and private transport being prioritised in visitor-spend. Digital booking behaviour for accommodation has continued to grow.

This data is sourced by Destination North Coast NSW via banking transactions and does not capture all visitor activity.

Our Volunteers Hit the Road

As you know, the Visitor Information Centre is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers from the community.

Each quarter we take them on a tour of the region to visit and learn about all the Nambucca Valley has to offer.

This month we took a trip to Macnuts in Macksville, the Pines Picnic Area in Yarriabini National Park, Frank Partridge Military Museum, Bowra Sports Hub and Nambucca Valley Train Carriages!

It was a jampacked day and everyone went home with full bellies and great stories to share.

Inclusivity and Accessibility in Tourism

Check out the links above for more info.

Making your business visibly inclusive and accessible could increase your exposure significantly.

  • 24% of international travellers have an accessibility requirement (mobility, hearing, vision, communication, allergies/intolerances)
  • 65% of LGBTQI+ travellers will research whether a place is safe before visiting.

If you're not showcasing this, you could be missing out on business. You can also update your Google Business listing with the below filters to signify safety and inclusivity under 'Crowd'.

What's on in the
Nambucca Valley?

We run a digital slideshow of events in the Visitor Information Centre showcasing all the latest updates and events.
We're also about to launch a monthly
'What's On' newsletter for visitors and locals, and want to support your events!

We are collecting data. Can we have yours?

We are seeking occupancy data from local operators to find out more about our visitors and their visitation patterns. The data available to us from Tourism Research Australia is very limited and non-specific to our area. By collecting and analysing your visitation data, we will be able to provide better support and resources to our operators, and understand where to target our marketing for future campaigns.
