Farewell and Best Wishes to Deb!
After 15 years as our Centre Director, Deb is retiring. Her vision, leadership, and deep commitment to community values have been instrumental in shaping our centre into the vibrant, welcoming hub it is today. Her ability to juggle the day to day demands of running a busy centre, guide strategic planning and program development, and support our board, staff, tutors and members has benefitted us all.
Deb’s warmth, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed. As she embarks on this exciting new chapter, we thank her for all she has contributed and wish her a joyful, well-earned retirement.
We’ll be hosting a morning tea in August to give Deb a proper send off and we’d love for our members to join us. Please email us below for details.
Barre - NEW class
Looking for a full-body workout that tones, strengthens, and leaves you feeling great? This low-impact class is inspired by ballet, Pilates and functional movement to help you build core and overall body strength and improve everyday movement.

Flow Together - a Yoga short course
This is your chance to take some time for yourself to move, breathe, and unwind in a supportive and uplifting space. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, this 4 week short course will introduce you to yoga at Balwyn CC – guiding you through mindful movement, helping you build strength, flexibility, and inner calm.

Ready to explore your creativity with flowers? Join Angela for a fun and inspiring 2-hour hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to craft a beautiful table arrangement using floral foam.
Whether you’re a flower enthusiast, looking for a relaxing new hobby, or simply curious, this class is perfect for beginners and budding floral artists alike.

Balwyn Community Centre Child Care is a local, not-for-profit occasional child care service, caring for up to 25 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years each day.

Stroke Awareness
Join us on Wednesday 20 August and learn what a stroke is, how to recognise the signs using the F.A.S.T. test, and what to do in an emergency. Identify key risk factors and simple steps you can take to reduce your risk.
Pastels
In this new short course you will learn simple pastel techniques and build your skills each week. Led by Joyce – a passionate artist with formal fine arts training – this class is perfect for beginners looking to build confidence and creative skills.

Winter coat drive
This winter we’re collecting pre-loved coats and jackets for Off Your Back – and we’d love your help! Pop your donation on the rack in our foyer before 4 August and help someone doing it tough this winter.
