What is Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)?
Almost all children will contract RSV at least once before they are two years old. RSV generally causes a mild respiratory illness with symptoms including a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat and fever. Watch this video to find out more about the virus. If your child has symptoms, keep them home from childcare and school. If your child has a prolonged fever or severe symptoms, contact your GP (or our Child and Adolescent Virtual Urgent Care Service)
