NEWS UPDATE

11 April 2025

Publishers note

I was saddened to receive news from the Basham family over the weekend that Bob Basham passed away on Saturday morning. Bob was a friend to many — a true leader, mentor, and visionary, and without question, one of the kindest people in our industry.

The Basham family has asked me to share the funeral details, which are now included in Bob’s Vale. Fair winds and following seas.

Last week, we reported that Yamaha had acquired Telwater. That news was still settling in when Maritimo announced their acquisition of the Caribbean Boat Australia brand. This wave of consolidation can bring valuable efficiencies, enhanced market expertise, and exciting new opportunities. Our best wishes go to the Maritimo and Caribbean teams for a bright and successful future.

Mulpha Events has announced the appointment of Claire Back as General Manager, Events & Partnerships, commencing Monday, 28 April 2025. Claire is well regarded in the exhibition industry for her leadership and event success. We warmly welcome her to the industry.

I do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
