  Christmas Party Fun!

On 12 December, PI residents, family/carers, staff and supporters came together for the annual PI Christmas Party on the lawns of Old Parliament House.

Great food, good company, karaoke, dancing and a visit from the jolly old man himself and his trusty elf were highlights of this special evening.

A huge thanks to Catherine Powell, our Fundraising Manager for organising this event, and to Di O'Hara, Steve and Maricel Giorgioni for their help on the night.

Please see some photos below courtesy of the ever-popular photo booth.

PI's Successful Giving Day

Did you know that Project Independence raised an incredible $33,600 from the Giving Day held on Thursday 1 December 2022 in celebration of International Disability Day!

Thank you to all who participated, and PI's wonderful matching partners, the Tall Foundation and Capital Chemist, who made this possible.

Sending a big shout-out to our fantastic Latham resident Greg. Greg is a wonderful gardener who spends many hours tending to the Latham gardens.

As well as this, Greg cooks delicious meals, with his friend Luke, for Latham residents. Thank you, Greg!

Phillip Is Moving Ahead!

The PI Operations Team were busy in November interviewing for residents of the new Phillip property.

Strong demand for places made the task very difficult, but we now have ten wonderful people looking forward to moving in.

It is anticipated that the build will be complete early June with residents moving in late June.

Welcome Ellie!

PI is pleased to welcome Ellie Abraham to PI Harrison. Ellie is busy working in two jobs but is taking time to make new friends at Harrison and to settle into her new home. Glad to have you with us Ellie!

Update to Revamped Website and Residents' Guide

Both of these projects are taking longer than anticipated but are well underway and will be ready to launch in the first half of 2023.

Help us build a future for ten new residents in the unique way of buying a brick for Project Independence Phillip.

Your unique brick will be laid in a pathway accessible to all the residents and their families as a visible indication of your generous support.

For a donation of just $50 (or $150 for your logo), you will be able to have your name, or a special message engraved into a paver that will be laid at Project Independence Phillip. Go to this
link.

We want to pass on our thanks to all residents for the way they have handled the changes that have come with a new PI Operations team structure. Everyone has made a huge effort to embrace new procedures and have been so accepting of change. We are very impressed and thank you so much.
