Click here October 2021 ![]() Construction Wins During the 87th Legislative SessionThe 87th legislative session saw big wins for the construction industry in spite of expectations that non-pandemic, non-budget and non-electricity issues would be placed on the back burner until 2023. After many years of negotiating, reforms were adopted protecting the construction team from liability for defective design documents. Additionally, commonsense changes were made to Chapter 53 of the Property Code governing liens. ![]() WORKING RESILIENCERice University Studies Daily Work and Home ExperiencesDanielle King’s WorKing Resilience Lab at Rice University is conducting research studies to better understand the everyday experiences of working adults. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, work at least 32 hours per week in a paid job and live in the Houston metropolitan area. Participation includes a baseline survey and training session online, both a wrist-worn activity monitor and small chest-worn heart rate monitor which must be worn for four weeks and completion of three short online surveys a day for four weeks.
