Research networks for children and young people The WISDOM Research Network established by colleagues from our BRC’s Mental Health in Development theme brings together primary and secondary schools in England with academic researchers to enable mental health research that meets the diverse needs of school communities. Read more: OH BRC News Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at OH BRC BRC researchers have to take account of the nine protected characteristics in their work. This month we highlight the Athena Swan accreditation scheme which provides local, Departmental Action Plans for addressing priorities in gender equality and inclusion. Congratulations to this year's highly cited researchers!Highly Cited Researchers are individuals who have shown significant impact in their research fields with multiple papers ranked in the top 1% by citations over the past decade on the Web of Science™. Congratulations to several of our BRC colleagues for being recognised in Clarivate's 2024 list. Read more: OH BRC News AnDY Clinic website launch As a key objective of our Mental Health in Development Theme, the Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic – Oxford launched in May 2024 and have recently launched their website. Sleep exchange scheme launched to boost research skills Partner universities of Oxford and Surrey have launched a training exchange scheme. The programme is designed to enhance the skill sets of researchers across both institutions by leveraging their respective strengths in sleep research and neuroimaging. Read more: OH BRC News VIP visit for Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility Recently Layla Moran, Liberal Democrat MP for Oxford West and Abingdon visited the Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility (OH CRF). Ms Moran had an opportunity to view the facilities and chat to staff and study participants whilst onsite at Warneford Hospital discussing plans for the Warneford Park Development. Read more: OH CRF News Launch of Dr Valeria Frighi Intellectual Disability Research AwardThe Department of Psychiatry has launched a small research funding award of up to £1,000 to support academics with a research interest in intellectual disabilities. Wearable devices can help predict five-year risk of falls for people with Parkinson’sUniversity of Oxford researchers have launched a new study to determine whether clinicians could use data gathered from wearable sensors to predict the risk of falling in people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) over a period of five years. Accurately assessing the risk of falls is crucial for effective care planning for PD patients.
