SHN's Community Mental Health Centre

SHN’s new Community Mental Health Centre will open and begin to offer services on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

The Community Mental Health Centre is one of SHN’s key capital projects that for a first time will bring together ambulatory and community outpatient mental health services currently offered at different SHN hospitals and satellite sites into one shared location at 1940 Eglinton Ave. E, 2nd floor.

The go-live of the Community Mental Health Centre allows us to optimize our “no wrong door” approach to care that is part of a larger transformation of SHN’s mental health and addictions program, including a central intake model and improved care pathways that more seamlessly and quickly connect patients to the right services across our program.

CT/MRI Central Intake eReferral on Ocean

The Central East Clinical Information System (CE CIS) has launched a new CT/MRI Central Intake using the Ocean eReferral platform, which aims to reduce wait times across the region. This initiative aligns with the approach that Scarborough Health Network implemented locally for our diagnostic imaging services using Ocean.

The regional CT/MRI Central Intake provides a single-entry point for outpatient CT/MRI referrals across Central East Ontario. Through a centralized Ocean e-referral, providers can now refer patients to multiple sites with a single click. Options are also available for patient preference and/or excluding sites if select hospitals are not accessible for their patients. Once a referral is placed, Ocean will automatically route the referral to the most appropriate CT/MRI site.
