NIHR Connect & Grow, Networking & Collaboration Event – Sponsored by NIHR Oxford Health BRCThis month, the OH BRC hosted a successful event in Oxford to discuss barriers and enablers for academic career progression for Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHPs) and the priorities to address them. Delegates were joined on the day by keynote speakers, Professor Ruth Endacott, NIHR Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Dr Fiona Maxton, Research Lead – CNO Policy and Strategy Unit – Nursing Directorate, NHS England. The ABATE study Part 2 is now recruiting volunteers at Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility (OH CRF)The ABATE study Part 2 is testing an investigational vaccine to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease in people with Down Syndrome. The study team are now looking for participants. Currently there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Find out if you or someone you know meets the criteria to participate in the study on the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust website. Public Talk: How can sleep point the way to better Parkinson’s care?In this talk on 30 January, Prof Michele Hu will explain how research has shown that people with REM sleep behaviour disorder often go on to develop Parkinson’s more than a decade later.
