NEWS UPDATE

12 June 2026

Publishers note

You are probably bored of hearing me say that it has been a busy week. But I hope you will forgive me for saying so again this week.

The news that unfolded with the announcement that Informa is launching the Australian International Boat Show in Sydney in 2027 did not happen overnight. While the research and background work has been a sizeable task, the announcement on Tuesday started a steady flow of emails, phone calls, text messages and social media messages. I am pleased to say that every one of them has been positive and supportive.

I am not taking the size or importance of this project lightly, and recognise that while nine months of planning is now behind me, the hard yards are still ahead.

Importantly, those who want to know more, or who may be puzzled by any conversations they are hearing around the traps, should feel free to call and chat with me for any clarification they may want.

Please read the full announcement below, or my story also below. If you would like to make contact, please email me about the show at domenic.genua@informa.com or call me on the same mobile number, 0412 642 357.

There is nothing I would enjoy more than for you to join me, and the industry, as we embrace this new opportunity and exciting journey.

Nothing will change at Marine Business News.  We will still publish news every business day and deliver our weekly eNews each Friday morning.

We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
