NEWS UPDATE26 July 2024 Publishers noteOne of the things I am always thinking about is what content to bring to our readers every week. As most of you know, we publish news every working day on our website, and occasionally on weekends and public holidays when we hear of breaking news. At times, our content is influenced by the news of the day, what we receive, or what we find as part of our daily research ritual. At other times, we are simply lucky to have a great bunch of people we can call on to help scribe a story or opinion piece. Once published, we study the stats, together with those we get from our Friday eNews. The results do influence what we look for to publish in the future. Each story is classified into one of the fifteen categories we use, such as ‘industry,’ ‘sport,’ ‘association news,’ and ‘history & society,’ to name a few. All categories and the number of stories in each can be found on the front page of our website. For a bit of trivia, last week there were two stories that were read the most: "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder" and "The Wharf Welcomes Prestigious Yachting Experts." In second place, three stories scored the same readership: "Highfield Boats and ZeroJet Unveil EJET330," "ACMG Launches Program for Inaugural Australian Commercial Marine Conference," and "Discover How Riviera’s Timber Offcuts Are Being Recycled into Hand-Crafted Masterpieces." It is rare that we have two stories land on the same number for first place, and even rarer that we have three equally as the second most read, but it can happen. My learnings are that we have a diverse readership who like news across many spheres. As we continue to see high readership, we will continue to proudly bring it to you.
