NATURAL CAPITAL ACCOUNTING

After 3 years, 15,000km travelled, 20,000ha covered, and 645 surveys conducted across 20 farms, we are pleased to announced that the Perth NRM Measuring On-farm Natural Capital in WA Project has been completed!

The completion of this project marks a significant contribution towards establishing an agreed-to NCA framework to measure and monitor on-farm natural capital.

As the population continues to grow, effective management of our natural capital across farming landscapes becomes more and more essential; ensuring increasing demand for food production can be met in an environmentally sustainable way. The work carried out throughout this project provides strong evidence for further investment in this space.

SIX SEASON WALK: DJILBA

The water was gushing through Lesmurdie Brook and the yellow and white flowers of Mundy Regional Park could be seen and smelt during our Djilba Six Season Walk hosted by the City of Kalamunda. The red-tailed black cockatoos, 28 parrots and pink and grey galahs made their presence known as they flew amongst the marri trees from their nesting hollows.

Uncle Neville Collard shared knowledge about the plants and animals we saw along the trail, and we learned how different ingredients were combined by Noongar people for medicinal purposes. Many questions were asked and answered.
