City of Zephyrhills elected officials, staffers, volunteers and citizens were on hand during the Nov. 28 event (which included a special appearance from Santa Claus!) Citizens are encouraged to stop by the City Hall courtyard take photos alongside this magnificent Christmas Tree. "EXPLORE" downtown Zephyrhills! The next time you visit downtown Zephyrhills, be sure to check out the newest Main Street Zephyrhills mural, "EXPLORE," painted along the 7th Street side of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles building (38421 5th Avenue). Completed by veteran artist Trinity Rivard, this mural pays homage to the City of Zephyrhills' rich history, while highlighting various attractions in town, such as Waterplay at Zephyr Park, Zephyrhills Skate Park, Skydive City, Sarah Vande Berg Tennis & Wellness Center, and so much more. (Zephyrhills Police K9 Officer Lorenzo Lomoges, with K9 Bolt, a seven-year old German Shepard) Congratulations to Zephyrhills Police Department (ZPD) K9 Officer Lorenzo Limoges and his K9 partner, Bolt, for finishing in second place for K9 drug detection at the Southern Coast K9's 25th annual Explosive & Narcotic Seminar in Daytona, Florida. The seminar featured 95 total K9 handler teams from across the country, including Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky. As part of the seminar's drug detection competition, Officer Limoges and K9 Bolt, a seven-year-old German Shepard, were challenged to swiftly and effectively locate narcotics hidden in buildings, cars and other outside areas. Officer Limoges has served with ZPD since 2015. He's also a lifelong City of Zephyrhills resident. Growing up, he attended West Zephyrhills Elementary, R.B. Stewart Middle and Zephyrhills High schools, respectively. "I really enjoy being an officer in the city that I love and grew up in," said Officer Limoges. "Knowing that I'm helping someone and that I’m getting narcotics off the streets is important to me." Thank you to Officer Limoges and K9 Bolt for keeping the Zephyrhills community safe! Welcome, ZPD Patrol Officer Paul Fellows! (Officer Paul Fellows was officially sworn in during a Nov. 14, 2022 Zephyrhills City Council Meeting) Welcome the newest member of the Zephyrhills Police Department (ZPD) squad, Officer Paul Fellows! Officer Fellows was born and raised in Pasco County. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry. In his free time, Officer Fellows enjoys spending time with family and friends, as they have been his greatest support system for his law enforcement journey. Hercules Park project design progressCheck out the latest renderings of the much-anticipated Hercules Park project, to be situated at the corner of County Road 54 and Gall Boulevard, and sandwiched between Woodland Elementary and Zephyrhills High schools. Design plans are at roughly 90% and once complete, will be sent to the project's construction management firm Wharton-Smith for pricing; construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023. Upon completion, this 12-acre park site is poised to feature a multi-purpose exercise trail, open playfield, splash pad, sheltered picnic space, among other amenities. Learn more (click here).
