We are entering a busy period filled with events that offer opportunities to connect and discuss the growth of the hydrogen sector. Together, we will explore the challenges and barriers that remain, as well as the institutional support needed to enable scaling up, industrialisation, and market activation. These challenges will accompany us for the years to come, but as research institutions and universities, we have a crucial role in identifying potential solutions. As Hydrogen Europe Research, we collectively strive to play a significant role in shaping research priorities, thanks to the active contributions of members involved in the Low TRL Working Group. Following the publication of the Research Position Paper, several groups are delving deeper into the potential achievements in the most promising sectors. I am truly grateful for the dedication shown by our members and the Secretariat, particularly Kristin, in this endeavor. On skills, we aim to position Hydrogen Europe Research as the key association driving a coordinated European program on education and training to empower the future workforce, extending even beyond European countries. Dominik is doing outstanding work in advocacy and in developing our value proposition, ensuring it aligns with the interests and objectives of most of our members. In addition, to further expand our role and reputation, we are engaging in discussions with DG RTD to establish formal collaborations with the Mission Innovation Programme and the Clean Hydrogen Mission. We are confident that we can contribute valuable insights to the discussions on the global research goals in the hydrogen sector. I encourage you to stay updated on this collaboration through the Low TRL Research Working Group. The Clean Hydrogen Partnership is making good progress, with the launch of Annual Work Plan25 accompanied by several info days across European countries and the ongoing identification of strategic priorities for AWP26. With Louis's support and in collaboration with Hydrogen Europe, we are organising two webinars to update our members on the pathway to preparing the next topics for AWP26. Simona has played a key role in preparing for the long-awaited EPHyC2025, which will be held in Trieste. You can find a dedicated update below. We are excited to kick off the event and see many PhD students come together to discuss their research, celebrate their achievements, and enjoy the experience with a few toasts! This month, I will be in Stara Zagora for the kickoff of an important project aimed at developing an ambitious research infrastructure. Following that, I will attend the Hydrogen Days in Prague and participate in the EU-Japan Workshop on Hydrogen Combustion in Kobe. This workshop is co-organised by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and NEDO as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Tokyo last year. I look forward to supporting these initiatives and bringing you more updates and opportunities next month!
