Currently, all of Europe’s monarchies are led by men, a rare occurrence that has not been seen since Empress Anna of Russia took the throne in 1730. However, this all-male line could soon change as many of these reigning men will eventually pass their crowns to their daughters or granddaughters, paving the way for future queens.
